This three-year accredited graduate degree gives you the chance to build knowledge of the law from a global and social justice perspective. We focus on developing your skills in critical thinking, analysis, advocacy, mediation and negotiation.In first year, you'll cover dispute resolution and the principles of constitutional, tort, public and criminal law. Second and third year offer units on other aspects of the law including corporate regulation, property law, evidence and criminal procedure, statutory regulation, and legal practice and conduct. You can also attend our winter school in Shanghai and summer school in Hong Kong or Geneva, and access summer and winter school electives from the Master of Laws in Global Business Law.You'll gain practical experience through our judicial mentoring program that allows you to spend a semester shadowing a judge or magistrate. You can also undertake supervised legal work in our law clinic and at organisations like the Consumer Action Law Centre, the Office of Public Advocate and the Environmental Justice.Our moot court gives you more practical experience through simulated activities like witness examination, negotiation and client interviews. We also have an exchange program that gives you the chance to study with our partner universities around the world.Bendigo students can transfer to Melbourne in third year or continue on at Bendigo through e-learning options.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.
