About the course

Combine business studies with event management and marketing knowledge, gaining the skills you need to promote, organise and manage events. The first year of this course introduces you to a range of essential business disciplines such as accounting, economics and finance. You'll also take an introductory events management subject along with an introductory marketing subject. Through your event management major, you'll develop the skills you need to plan and organise festivals and community events, as well as develop your knowledge of sustainability in event planning and management. We place a particular focus on developing your entrepreneurship skills, which are vital for the promotion and success of professional, sporting, cultural and community events. Through your marketing major, you'll learn how to define and communicate effective marketing strategies and gain an understanding of brands and brand management, advertising and sales promotion. You'll also gain the market research skills necessary to find opportunities for successful events. Our unique industry Professors of Practice work within this course to improve course curriculum, student learning experience, and engage with industry and business.
